West Country Midwives is seeking a Registered Midwife to join our team in Rocky Mountain House. New Registrants are welcome to apply.
This is a rural practice offering flexibility in caseload and practice model, with options for primary or team-based care. The practice provides full-scope midwifery care and offers a supportive environment focused on informed choice, normal birth, and healthy work-life balance.
About the Practice
Classified as a rural practice, with eligibility for MARP funding and relocation funding
Up to four midwifery positions available in Rocky Mountain House
Flexible caseload and practice model, with primary or team models available
Privileges at a local rural hospital, as well as a Level 2 facility within approximately 1.25 hours
Accuro EMR
Heritage house clinic with shared clinic space
Approximately 50% out-of-hospital birth rate, with a birth suite available in the clinic
Strong commitment to informed choice and normal birth, with low induction and epidural rates and a high rate of waterbirth, including hospital waterbirth
Supportive team committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance
Beautiful rural setting close to the mountains, with access to four-season recreational activities as well as local arts and theatre
About the Position
Flexible caseload
New Registrants welcome
$5,000 signing bonus with a two-year contract
Up to $9,600 in relocation funding may be applicable
Eligible for the Canada Loan Forgiveness Program, with up to $30,000 available over the first five years

About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has an energetic and positive attitude
Is committed to providing excellent full-scope midwifery care
Is an excellent communicator and works well within a multidisciplinary team
Is comfortable attending out-of-hospital births at a distance from hospital services
Can contribute to a supportive and respectful work environment
Has strong emergency skills and is comfortable practicing in a rural setting with fewer resources nearby
Is comfortable with winter driving on rural roads
At this time, applicants must be eligible for registration in Alberta.
