Aspen Community Midwives is seeking a General Registered Midwife to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.

This is a PMAO-approved position for a registered midwife who is not currently practising in the Edmonton Zone. The position includes ongoing hospital privileges in the Edmonton area.

Aspen Community Midwives is also interested in welcoming two midwives currently practising in the Edmonton area to join our team.

We are an urban midwifery practice offering flexibility in caseload, clinic scheduling, and practice structure within a supportive and collegial environment. We provide full-scope midwifery care centred on informed choice, normal birth, continuity of care, and client autonomy.

About the Practice

  • Established midwifery practice, operating since 2020

  • Balanced team of experienced midwives, new registrants, and students

  • Located in central Edmonton in the Old Strathcona/Mill Creek area, close to Mill Creek Ravine, local cafés, shops, and amenities

  • Beautiful clinic located in a 1946 house, with two clinic rooms, group space, and access to a full kitchen

  • Supportive, respectful, and collegial work environment

  • Flexible caseload options, allowing you to determine the caseload that works for you

  • Primary care/solo midwifery practice, with team-based options available

  • Hospital privileges at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, with the option to pursue additional privileges elsewhere

  • Privileges at two local birth centres

  • On-site midwife support through the In-House Midwifery Program at the Royal Alexandra Hospital

About You

The successful applicant will:

  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the College of Midwives of Alberta

  • Be a General Registrant or a New Registrant who has completed their New Registrant requirements

  • Be eligible for practice privileges within Alberta Health Services

  • Bring an energetic and positive attitude to the practice

  • Value continuity of care, informed choice, and client autonomy

  • Have an interest in community-based and out-of-hospital birth

  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and communication skills
