Airdrie Midwives is seeking a Registered Midwife to join our established and collaborative practice in Airdrie, Alberta.

This is an exciting opportunity to practise full-scope, relationship-based midwifery within a supportive team that values autonomy, continuity of care, informed choice, and client-centred practice. The successful candidate will join a three-midwife call rotation, with hospital privileges in Calgary.

About Us

Established in 2017 as a satellite of Birth Partnership Midwives, Airdrie Midwives provides care to families in Airdrie and surrounding rural communities.

Our practice offers a diverse mix of community and hospital-based care, with approximately 40% of births occurring out of hospital. Midwives provide full-scope care from early pregnancy through six weeks postpartum, supporting clients throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.

We have strong interdisciplinary relationships with nursing and obstetric colleagues at Rockyview General Hospital (RGH), as well as access to 24/7 onsite midwife support through the In-House Midwifery Program.

Our team is committed to building a sustainable practice where midwives can provide excellent care while maintaining a healthy and supportive work environment.

Practice Model & Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the College of Midwives of Alberta

  • Be a General Registrant or New Registrant

  • Be eligible for practice privileges within Alberta Health Services

  • Value continuity of care, informed choice, and client autonomy

  • Have an interest in community-based and out-of-hospital birth

  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and communication skills

  • Be compassionate, organized, and committed to high-quality client-centred care

  • Enjoy working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team

  • Contribute positively to a supportive and respectful practice environment
