2 Locum Opportunities Calgary, AB - Aurora Midwifery

Aurora Midwifery has two upcoming openings for a full-time locum position. Less than full time will also be considered.

Beginning April 2026 for a 12 month term or August 2026 and the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role

Who We Are

Alberta has fully funded midwifery care, creating an incredible demand for midwifery care and long waiting lists. We hold privileges at all Calgary hospitals, though our primary sites are South Health Campus and Rockyview General Hospital. Aurora Midwifery is an established practice with a beautiful clinic space in South Calgary. We have a diverse community of clients and provide client-centered, compassionate, and evidence-based care in a supportive and friendly environment.

Aurora has built solid relationships with our interprofessional colleagues and hope you will help to nurture those relationships. Ensuring a healthy work-life balance is important to us. The on-call schedule and days off will be decided upon by the team members.

This would be an ideal opportunity for a new registrant who will soon complete their NR year to be able to remain in Calgary.

What We Need

The interested applicants must:

-Possess current (or be eligible for) registration with the College of Midwives of Alberta have current CPR, NRP, and Emergency Skills certification. New Registrants are welcome to apply but preference will be given to a general registrant.

-Have excellent communication skills, work well in a small team, and contribute positively to the practice.

-Be flexible and reliable with on call rotation.

-Hold a full driver’s license and have immediate access to a reliable vehicle
