West Coast Health Collective (WCHC) - FULL & PART TIME Midwifery positions available.ONE YEAR term with the potential for a long term caseload.

** Flexible Start Dates **

We are excited about the possibility of applicants from all provinces. At WCHC we believe in collaborative care and

share a commitment to the community. We have excellent interprofessional relationships and currently hold privileges

at Abbotsford Regional Hospital while serving pregnant families in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, and Langley.

We are flexible and excited about creative caseloads and call schedules, and are open to brainstorming other models.

We value regular and meaningful time off and strive to work collaboratively with schedules that work for everyone.

Bring your ideas! :)

Our cozy clinic is located conveniently in the heart of Abbotsford. We’re close to many great areas for hiking,

camping, and outdoor adventuring. Abbotsford is a quick jaunt over to Vancouver, Harrison Hot Springs, the Interior,

and Washington State. And let’s not forget Vancouver Island and Whistler are not too far for a weekend away.

Abbotsford International Airport also makes traveling out of Province or Country fast and convenient.

We are flexible and hoping the successful candidate will be available to start as soon as possible but we are

flexible and can negotiate a later start date too.

Remuneration is more than fair and equitable and dependent on the type of privileges the successful candidate acquires.

For example, locum privileges vs. provisional vs. new graduate privileges.

What do Midwives who’ve worked at WCHC say?

“The minute I walked into WCHC as a new registrant, I instantly felt like I was home. Being a midwife is rewarding but also very

challenging and finding the right team to work with is key. Working at WCHC I always felt well supported and like my opinion

mattered. Rob and Alescia put the clients of WCHC first, but the midwives and other care providers are a close second. They

value supporting a good work/life balance and have always been adaptable, flexible and creative when coming up with schedules

that work for everyone. I may not work at WCHC anymore, but I owe them everything for helping me become the midwife I was

and the woman I am.” - KP

“Ever since I heard of the career "midwifery" I knew that was where I was supposed to be. Once I entered its world, it was

unfortunately hard to stay in it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED everything about being a midwife, but it was never easy to BE one.

That was until I got to West Coast Health Collective. WCHC was where I finally found my footing, confidence and peace as a

midwife. I wholeheartedly believe it was because it was a place that fostered a sense of community; family. In midwifery, you give

your all for your clients. It's a 24/7 job. It becomes very hard to keep that up when you have no support to do so. WCHC provided

not only support, but flexibility in work, unity in practice (creating better continuity for clients), and encouragement of self. Work/life

balance is so important for mental health with this profession and WCHC provided the best opportunities for creating and

maintaining that. And as a new mother on maternity leave, they still come to me with ways to make transition back to work as easy

as possible. I have also grown so much at WCHC because of the community of colleagues I have come across. Ultimately, it's

been an honor and blessing working at WCHC. I truly cannot see myself in any other place. It's my home.” - AB

"I have been a midwife for over 8 years and have had the opportunity to work all over Canada. For the last 3 years, I have been

working at West Coast Health Collective with an amazing team of midwives and have had the pleasure to work at both ARH and

LMH with the best nurses and consultants. At my time at this practice, I have always felt supported and respected. My opinions

and goals have always been a priority and I value the opportunity and experiences that WCHC have given me. I feel that I was

able to grow as a midwife within the practice and hospital. If it wasn’t for my need to be closer to family, this would have been

where I would have retired. I have always felt like part of a team- not just another number, not just another midwife". - NLM
