Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Health, Community and Education is seeking a passionate and experienced midwifery educator to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery as a Limited Term Assistant Professor (Midwifery).

The Faculty is committed to preparing students for meaningful and impactful work in health, education, and community sectors. The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers programs including the Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Nursing, and post-basic certificate programs that support ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.

This position is focused on teaching and service within the Teaching/Service (TS) work pattern, supporting student learning, curriculum development, and program delivery within the Bachelor of Midwifery program.

The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative and supportive academic environment while helping to shape the next generation of midwives through high-quality education and mentorship.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a Registered Midwife in good standing with a Canadian regulatory body

  • Have a Master’s degree in Midwifery or a related field (PhD preferred)

  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of recent midwifery practice experience

  • Have a strong interest and/or experience in midwifery education

  • Are able to teach across all levels of midwifery education and contribute to curriculum development

  • Hold or are willing to obtain instructor certifications in areas such as Fetal Health Surveillance, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Emergency Skills (preferred)

  • Value collaboration, student-centred learning, and advancing midwifery education
